Organizers are looking
for anyone who speaks a foreign or uncommon language to help teach at
the Festival of Languages. The festival is scheduled March 27 from 9
a.m. to 7 p.m.
The festival, which
originated in France, will have about 50 languages represented. People
who attend the festival can learn to say “I love you” in a different
language or just appreciate another means of communication, according to
Dennis Keefe, festival organizer and director of the Very Intensive
International Preparation Program.
“It's good to get
American and international students together,” said Keefe. “I bet there
is one person running around campus who speaks Eskimo.”
The festival features
languages spoken throuĝout the world as well as sign language and Pig
Latin. Anyone interested in teaching a language at the festival is
encouraged visit the Festival of Languages Web site at “www.linguafest.info”.
